Landscapes - Iceland
Personal landscape photography from Iceland: black-sand beaches, glacial lagoons, and the quiet drama of a country shaped by elemental forces.
The trip
In 2023 I drove the full ring road around Iceland, a loop of the whole country with one aim: to come back with as much of it on camera as the light and the weather would allow. Black-sand beaches, glacial lagoons, steaming geothermal valleys, waterfalls you hear long before you see them. Every turn of the road opened onto something new.
Why winter
This was deliberate portfolio work as much as a trip. I wanted the harder light and the emptier landscapes of winter, to round out a body of work that tends to run warm and to show what I can do beyond the hotel: nature, weather, scale. It reads as landscape photography, but the eye behind it is the one I bring to luxury hospitality, patient and composed, waiting for the moment a place gives something up.
