How much does a luxury hotel film cost?
There is no fixed price, and anyone who quotes one before hearing the brief is guessing. Here is what actually drives the cost of a luxury hotel film.
It is the first question most properties ask, and the honest answer is: it depends on the brief. That sounds evasive, so here is the useful version. The price of a hotel film is not set by a rate card, it is set by a handful of decisions, and once you understand them you can shape the budget instead of guessing at it.
What actually drives the price
Five things move the number more than anything else.
Scope. One brand film is a different project from a campaign with a dozen social cutdowns, which is different again from an ongoing series. The more finished pieces, the higher the cost, but the lower the cost per piece, because the expensive part, getting a crew on site and into the property's rhythm, is shared across everything you shoot that day.
Shoot days. A single well-planned day on site covers far more than people expect when the brief is focused. Multiple properties, or a story that has to follow a season or an event, add days, and days are the biggest single line in any quote.
Locations and logistics. A city-centre flagship is one thing. A remote resort, permits for drone or FPV, travel and accommodation for the crew, a shoot that has to work around a live event, all of it adds up before a single frame is filmed.
Deliverables. The hero film is only part of it. Vertical social versions, a teaser, stills pulled from the shoot, different lengths for different channels, each finished format is edit time, and edit time is real time.
Usage and licensing. Where and for how long the films will run, and whether any music, talent or voiceover needs licensing, all affect the figure. It is better to decide this up front than to re-clear rights later.
Why nobody should quote you blind
If someone gives you a price before they have heard what the film is for, they are quoting a guess, and a guess is usually wrong in one of two ways. Too low, and corners get cut on the shoot or the edit. Too high, and you are paying for a scope you did not need. A real quote comes after a short conversation about the property, the audience, and the one thing the film has to achieve.
The other reason scope matters: a modest, focused shoot with a clear point of view routinely outperforms an expensive one that tried to film everything. Spending more does not guarantee a better film. Spending it on the right things does. We wrote about that in why most luxury hotel films look the same.
Where the value compounds
The best economics come from a series rather than one-off shoots. Once the visual language is set and the crew knows the property, each additional film costs less and the body of work grows more coherent. That is the logic behind the Lartisien series: ninety films over two years, at a cadence and a cost per film that a single commission could never reach.
How to get an accurate number
Come with the brief, not just the question. Tell us how many films, roughly how many days you imagine, how many properties, and where they will run. From that we scope it precisely, with no fixed package and no padding. If it helps, see the range of what we make on the luxury hotel videography page, then send the brief and we will put real numbers against it.
